I didn't write these, nor have I checked them all out -- but here's a list of resources to get you started. Most are targeted at the Intel world. Let me know if any of the links need updating.

- Assembly Tutorials -

"The Art Of Assembly Language": the mother of on-line assembly tutorials. Big, very complete, and great if you don't want to go buy a book.
Adam's Assembly Tutorial: A ZIP file of Adam's Assembly Tutorial files. If you want to see what's in the zip file you can view the tutorial files on-line.
Assembly Language Tutor, Perez: An basic assembly language tutorial. Haven't read it. It's layout is a bit crazy, but is seems to cover some good info.

Programmers Heaven - Assembler Zone: Tons of good reading, useful stuff.
Ralf Brown's Interrupt List: The legendary list.
80x86 Instruction Set: (up to 486) Bare bones info for reference.
DOS Debug Tutorial: Look, if your working in DOS, debug can be useful--depending on what tools you don't have at your disposal.

- Tools -

NASM: (Netwide Assembler) A free portable assembler for the Intel 80x86 microprocessor series. Great features, and it has an IDE for DOS which is similar to Borland's Turbo Vision environment. For other OSs there is the Java based NASM Edit, with syntax highlighting, etc...
a86 Assembler: A good x86 DOS assembler, but it's shareware (ie. not free.) There's also a debugger availible now, d86.
